A Special Place on a Wild River
Rock Creek Ranch is located on a sweeping bend of the Wild and Scenic South Fork of the Smith River, in the spectacular Redwood country of Northern California, operated by Smith River Alliance, a non-profit organization working to conserve the Smith watershed. The crystalline waters of the Smith River, uncrowded hiking trails and the surrounding wild forest provide opportunities for fishing, rafting, kayaking, hiking, swimming, biking and other activities.
The 175 acre Ranch is located on a sweeping bend in the river and is a place where the seasons are felt. Large and small groups come throughout the year to withdraw from the busy world and find inspiration and renewal in the Smith River canyon. The Ranch offers clean and comfortable lodging in a rustic setting and camping-only options for your visit.
Since 2002, Rock Creek Ranch has hosted camps, conservation programs, retreats and community gatherings. Remnants of the original stone lodge stand beside a magnificent emerald pool, with its old foundation serving as an impromptu amphitheater and outdoor classroom. Our priority is to use the Ranch for SRA activities, however the facilities may be available to groups and private parties when not scheduled for our use.
